if we had any ice met stashed away from last winter! Earlier I told my husband how I hated Iowa. Then I retracted that to say that I hated Iowa in the winter. Which I promptly retracted to say that what I really meant was that I hated Iowa in the winter when I had to leave the warmth of our house! I love Iowa in the winter when I get to stay in the house and watch the winter wonderland from the warmth.
I am thinking: about why we homeschool our children. I believed that public school could provide them with an adequate academic education. It was the type and nature of the spiritual education that we objected to. My desire was to install a love for God, a love for learning, and a love for our family. If I were to evaluate our school year based on those three criteria I would have to seriously question how on track we were or rather weren't. Hmmm.
I am thankful: That God's grace abounds.
From the kitchen: We ate on the run tonight with everyone coming in from seperated directions and heading out again. I do need to pick something nummy to take to the pastoral team dinner tomorrow night that fits into the decadent dessert catagory. Over the weekend I tried a quick and easy breakfast bake that was fabulously simple! Simply spread croissant rolls onto the bottom of a 9 by 13 pan. Sprinkle chopped peices of ham or bacon on top of that. Mix 6 eggs and a half cup of milk. Pour over the the ham or bacon. Sprinkle a half cup of moxerella and a half cup of cheddar cheese on top. Bake at 350 for 25 minuites. That little life saver recipe is thanks Kraft foods.
I am wearing: a denim skirt, red sweater, and my brand new knee high brown boots which I love!
I am creating: a new school schedule for my daughter. Refer to what am I thinking about!
I am reading: I think this is the longest I have ever gone without a book in hand. I just have been so busy and preoccupied that I have not had time to wrap my brain around anything extra. The only things I have been reading have been online at my favorite blog spots.
I am praying: that I impart this truth to my children. No matter what, God is good and God is in control. No Matter what! More than ever I feel a calling on my life to prepare my children for the future and what shall surely come.
I am hearing: It is apparently mating season for my canaries and my male bird is trilling his little heart out. It is ear piercingly high, loud and long! I am also hearing a now identified strange noise which was discovered to be the mating call of our aquatic frogs. We just got rid of 118 apple snails and took away one of the "couple" to put a stop to that business. I can only imagine what the frogs will do. The birds are seperated so big relief there!
A few plans for the rest of the week: We are looking forward to a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with nothing on the calender! We are planning to make a bunny play yard over the weekend. We have attempted many things make shift to give him an excersise area but last night he ate a book and a cord on my lamp. Need to make something that will contain him, give him room to excerise, and will keep him safe. We have found that everything we could buy and retrofit would be about a hundred dollars but we can build something for around $25.oo.
