Simple Womans Daybook Monday Nov. 17, 2008

Outside My Window: The sun has done down and it is dark already at 5:20 p.m. It is dark when we get up and dark so early in the evening. I would not make a good Alaskan! I like sunlight to much. Several cloudy days in a row cause me to be grumpy It is good for early bed times and staying put in the evenings. Who wants to be out running around in the dark!

I Am Thinking: about Joshua. While Moses is entering the tabernacle and communing with God, Joshua stayed outside the door. Exodus 33:11 says that "his servant Joshua , the son of nun, a young man would not depart from the tent. Later in Joshua 5 vs13 when God comes face to face with Joshua and speaks, Joshua falls flat on his face at the sound of his voice. Why - because he knew the voice. He had heard it time after time while standing outside the door of the tabernacle. Do I know Gods voice? Would I recognize him? I do not have a physical tabernacle, but my body is the dwelling of the holy spirit. I have Gods word. Am I "listening" so that when I hear, I know.

I am Thankful: for the peace that passes all understanding. Despite the issues facing us, my focus is on eternity. God is good all the time, no matter what, God is good!

From the kitchen: Beef Stew, homemade rolls and gingerbread with cool whip. Its small group dinner night at our house so there are two crock pots full of stew. The house smells wonderful.

I am wearing: a grey skirt and a green fleece pull over with grey trim. Warm and comfy were my goals for the day!

I am creating: blogs for my children. Instead of typing and other writing exercises we are creating blogs for them to work on. I am still working on what criteria I will use to grade this project and what types of entries I would like to see but they are excited to get started.

I am reading: In His Steps by Charles Sheldon

I am Praying: for the marriages in my extended family.

I am hearing: My daughter has a friend over and they are engaged in a game of electronic battleship. I am hearing lots of missiles combined with shrieks of excitement and groans of destruction. My son also has a friend over and from their corner of the house is the sound of Lego's being dumped and shifted through. My son is very into his Lego's lately. Any and all spare change that finds its way into his pocket is spent on Lego's.

A few Plans for the rest of the week: It is going to be a relaxed week without a lot of extras going on. The weekend is empty as well. I plan on enjoying it while I can. We are hosting Thanksgiving next week, the week following I have a rather significant event taking place, and then we are in the December rush. I am itching to get out the Christmas decorations and set up the tree!
