Simple Womans Daybook

Outside my window the yard is needing mowed. We have been so busy with school and gone over the weekends that it has not been mowed in the last three weeks!

I am thinking about not voting in the upcoming election for president. I can not believe I am even contemplating not voting! I am a proud American who is so thankful to live in a country with such a priveledge and yet, my allegence is to Christ. Can I vote for with such choices and still honor Christ in my actions?

I am thankful for my home! My husband and I have been looking around the real eastate market contemplating a move for reasons of added space and a garage. What we are finding is that for a lot more money the houses are in way worse condition than our home that we have just finished remodeling. The houses with the size and style we need also have no yard and as m dmd says, the yard and the kitchen are the most important things.

From the kitchen Dinner will be oven roasted bbq chicken, sour creme mashed potatoes and salad. Our oldest daughter came home from college for the weekend and baked the most amazing apple pie. We will be finishing that off for dessert tonight!

I am wearing my pj's! We are off to a slow start this morning.

I am creating posters for our coop which begins next Monday. The posters will help the new families to locate where all the rooms are.

I am going to get groceries, balence my checkbook and mow the yard today!

I am reading Newspaper, Pennies, Cardboard and Eggs for Growing A Better Garden by Roger Yepsen

I am praying for a dear friend who is struggling with kidney stones and is suppose to leave this week to see her grandchildren in Seattle.

I am hearing the wash machine do its job. Part of being gone over the weekend meant no clothes were watched. Another reason for the morning being spent in pjs!

One of my favorite things is my house. I mentioned earlier that we have been looking at real eastate but I have to tell you that we have lived in our house for fourteen years and apparently I have become attached and partial to it. When I walk in the door I like what I see and I like what I feel. My gardens are wonderful. So much time and love poured into them. I really can't picture us anywhere else.

A few plans for the rest of the week; football, football, football. Did I mention football season has started! LOL My husband coaches our sons 6th grade football team. Practices start this week and they are both excited to get out there and get dirty. The Des Moines Dog show is next weekend. I am going to attempt to dehydrate some apple slices. Our apple trees are overful with Jonathon apples. I don't care for Jonathans for applesauce so I am trying to find a way to save them for pies and snacking.
