Outside of my window: the steam is building. Iowa feels like a tropical rain forest! The rain came in torrential sheets this morning making for an interesting commute into town. It took me 4 detours and 1 hour 15 minutes to make what is normally a 20 minute drive. Flooded roads, broken lights, and a couple accidents provided more excitement than I needed or wanted at 7:00 A.m.
From the learning room: The school books are ordered. The harp has been ordered. Amazingly enough on the day I ordered the harp the company had the harp on sale 30% off! I made contact with DMD's art and harp teacher but am still up in the air on DYS's cello and piano times. The way it is shaping up we are going to have something out of the house every day of the week. This is not ideal but hopefully doable. I was not in any hurry to have DMD driving but my husband wisely decided that she should take the class. It will be a huge benefit for her to be able to drive this year! DMD's classes for this year include; Notgrass world history and literature, Bob Jones consumer math, Abeka 10 language , Rosetta stone Italian, Bible, Art, Harp, and Hand Crafts. DYS will be doing; Saxon 7/8, Abeka language 8, Mystery of History Volume 8, Italian, Bible, Cello, Piano. DYS will also be playing home school football for a season this fall.
In the kitchen
With all my children under 1 roof and a month of very little cooking I was inspired to cook up a storm! In honor of DOD's home coming I spent Saturday making home made ravioli. It was definitely worth the effort!I am praying: that all of our plans for the year are within God's will for each one of us and that each one of us would glorify God in the role he has given us for the next school year. As student or mother!
