Outside my window: It was a beautiful weekend with lots of sunshine! Such a nice reprieve from the cloudy sunless skies that have dominated this winter!
I am thinking about the following quote from Elizabeth Elliot. "It is a wife's job to make her husband happy but not good. It is the mothers job to make her children good not happy. It is the husbands unfortunate job to make his wife both good and happy!
From the learning room: Nothing exciting to report here. I decorated the outside of the kids high school binders but have not dedicated any time to the forms for the inside! DmD created some of her own record keeping forms for music, art, volunteer work, and Home Economics. It will be much easier for her to keep track of these hours then me!
In My kitchen:
Friday: pizza
Saturday: bean burgers and home made onion rings
Sunday: left overs
Monday: taco soup
Tuesday: chicken tortia soup
Wednesday chicken Parmesan sandwich
Thursday: Rice and stir fry
This was DMD's final cake from her Wilton 1 Cake Decorating class. The roses turned out beautifully~ We put the whole cake right into the freezer to save it for a special occasion.
I am wearing: a denim skirt and striped pink toned sweater.
I am praying: for continued peace and patience. For DOD's job applications and prospects. My dear friend who injured herself over the weekend.
I am reading: profiles of children who are in the foster care system and available for adoption.
I am hearing: the tap tap tapping of my computer keys and the occasional tweet of our bird. DMD is occasionally commenting on her school as she works.
Around the house: We tried to get the top bunk mattress Friday but the store was out so we have ordered one and can pick it up this Friday. I bought two comforters for the bunk beds. I chose a tan because it was neutral and the tone coordinated well with the paint colors. Then I got Sunday's paper and saw that the exact same comforters were over 15 dollars cheaper on sale this week! I will be taking my receipt in tomorrow!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Another very busy week with just our normal activities but we are also going to see the Boxcar Children at a local theater. We are also keeps a friends two young sons for a couple days while they take their older children on a ski outing. I have been much looking forward to having them. I hope that it will be a nice weekend!
One of my favorite things: reaching the end of the day and feeling like I have accomplished something and tired enough to go to bed and sleep!
