Strawberry Fields

The strawberries are ripening and according to everyone who has nibbled their way through our garden in the last few days, they are goood! Last year we had lots of wet weather and very little sunshine so the berries were small, sour and required a little sugar to make them edible. No sugar needed this year! They are juicy and sweet thanks to a nice amount of rain and lots of sun! Right now we are getting several cups a day with no end in sight. There are blooms and buds everywhere.
I don't need any jam this year so any extra berries that are not eaten will be frozen for later eating. This is so easy to do. I rinse the berries, take off the top and set them on a cookie sheet lined with parchement or wax paper so that the berries are not touching one another. Once they are frozen I drop them into a freezer container.
