Outside my window; night has fallen.
I am thinking about Mary and Martha. I am definitely a Martha but tonight I realized that my husband needs me to occasionally sit by his feet. While he appreciates his clean underwear and well run household, sometimes he just wants me to listen and hear his heart. He needs my encouragement not just my service.
I am thankful that another family in our small group hosted dinner this evening and that after a long tiring weekend and a busy Monday all I had to do was show up and eat a wonderful dinner!
From the kitchen; I am still planning this weeks menu and will hopefully get it finished in the morning because my only window of opportunity for the grocery store is tomorrow afternoon. My dmd's 14th birthday is this coming weekend and she still needs to decide what kind of cake she would like me to make and what her birthday meal will consist of. I do know that we will be having beef stew one night this week with fresh baking powder biscuits.
I am wearing; my pjs. Its late and I am worn out. I did wear my new denim skirt with the pretty pink and green flower around the hemline with the matching denim jacket.
I am creating; lists and they are seemingly endless. Grocery list, grocery menu, lists of books to look for at the library, list of lessons I need to plan, lists of chores to accomplish, list of things to bake, lists of things to buy for winter. On and on the lists go.
I am reading; A Life That Says Welcome by Karen Ehman
I am praying; for my husband.
I am hearing; One of those light night talk shows on the tv. I'm not sure what is on but my husband is amused.
A few plans for the rest of the week; The girls - my two daughter, sister, mother and I are headed for a day trip to the nearest IKEA store. Also hoping to stop into the Lego store while we are in town. My oldest daughter is coming home from college to go with and will stay over the weekend for dmds birthday party Sunday. We are going to look at more bunnies this week. We have an appointment tomorrow evening with a breeder of the Holland lop bunny.
The Picture; a maple leaf on our front sidewalk.
