Outside my window: Construction has begun on the road in front of our house. They are putting in curb and gutter as well as laying a new road. Unfortunatly, no one explained to us that in order to do all the things they were going to do the utility pole across the street would move to became a permanent ficture in our front yard, 3 feet from our bedroom window.
I am thinking: about my sister who was baptised yesterday! We are not just sisters on earth but sister in heaven! How cool is that!
I am thankful: that Jesus Christ is Lord! I do not have to worry about the election, the bailout, global warming or any ot he other things the news media makes out to be urgently critical. God is on his throne!
From the Kitchen: We have not had a roast since spring so I put one in the crock pot this morning. There are extra baked potatoes that need to be used up from a small group baked potato bar night. Throw in a sald and all togather a pretty easy meal for me today!
I am wearing; my black skirt and white t shirt which i will top off with my denim jacket when we head out. The high today is supposed to be around 70.
I am creating: applesauce and grape juice. Almost done!
I am reading: In Defense of Food. Excellant book on how our food system has been destroyed but foods that although they look real do not actually resemble the thing they used to be. For instance bread that used to be wheat, flour, yeast, and egg. To read the ingrediant list of a loaf of bread in the store today requires a diploma in creative science!
I am praying: for a teenager in our church who is struggling and needs to know the love of Jesus! For a fellow home schooling mother whose husband is struggling with cancer and the removal of his kidney expected to happen soon.
I am hearing: I am currently listening to a local radio show called Jan Mickelson. Its open line time today so I will be switching to oneplace.com soon to hear todays lesson from beth Moore on Romans.
Around the house: Things are a real mess here. I still have a hundred pounds of apples to proccess into apple sauce. I also have a huge canner full of grapes yet to be proccessed. Of course when you get busy with such a big project everything else tends to fall to the wayside.
A few plans for the rest of the week: A trip to an apple orchard for the kids today. My in laws are headed out for a vacation so I will be helping my husband at the store for the next two weeks. We will hopefully be able to go to the Y and swim one afternoon. And of course apples and grapes!
