Simple Woman's Daybook

Monday Feb. 23, 2009 Simple Woman's Day Book

Outside My Window the sun is shining brightly. We are supposed to warm up through Wed. and then get another snow fall on Thursday. Spring keeps trying to break through only to get pushed back by winter.

I am thinking about how much I enjoyed my weekend. Our oldest daughter came home to have her phone fixed. It is always fun to have her home! We spent a relaxed day shopping and lunching together with friends on Sunday.

I am thankful that Mr. understands physics and that he was able to explain it to our dmd who in turn was able to miss only 1 on her science test!

From the learning room; We really buckled down last week and spent several evenings as well as time over the weekend getting book reports finished and the rough draft of their research reports done. We dropped all of our subjects except math and science to have extra time to work on them during the day. Back to our full schedules this week. Feeling caught up and on task!

From the kitchen - Mr. is going to be gone Thurs to Fri so I am keeping the menu simple this week.

t- salads and rice / left overs

w- Mr. and Dmd eat at small group, Dys will grab a sandwich.

th- tomato soup and grill cheese sandwiches

fr- The kids and I are eating out somewhere.

sat - hmmm

sun - hmmm

mo - We are hosting our small group dinner tonight. I think we will have turkey casserole.

I am wearing - my navy blue and yellow day suit.

I am creating - I am still working on our Lent devotional. I need to run to the store to get the last of the materiel's that we need. I am also taking my daughter to the fabric store this week where we are going to pick out some material for fun summer skirts!

I am going - bowling today with our coop.

I am reading The Amish Cook at home. I really enjoyed paging through this book with its recipes and little glimpses into the Amish cooks culture.

I am praying - for perseverance! Feb. is a hard home school month. We are nearing the end of the year, earning to be outside in the warmth and sun and for a break from the rigors and demands of the schedule.

I am hearing my son practice his piano.

Around the house the my husband made lots of progress on the stair well going upstairs to our daughters room. The trim and drywall is all in so that area is taking on a finished look. I am always amazed at his talent! We are being invading by little Asian Beatles. They are everywhere and yet we can not spray for them because of our canaries. I will have to wait until it is warm enough outside to be able to put them out of the house while it is being sprayed and for two hours afterwards. They survived the winter somewhere and the first warm sunny day we had they became active. The frost is not even out of the ground yet!

One of My favorite things are the coffee cups that I bought for Valentines Day. They say Mr. and Mrs. on them which is our nicknames for each other. I love drinking my morning cup of coffee out of my Mrs. cup!
