Traditionally, The Simple Woman's Daybook should be done on Mondays but this simple woman did not even have time to check email yesterday let alone write a post!

Outside My Window: there has been no progress made on the new road in front of our house. I am beginning to think that they are waiting for bad weather. The last three weeks have been so nice but nothing has been accomplished. The good weather can not hold out forever. It is after all Iowa.

I am thinking: about submission. It is an easy thing to do when you are never really asked to do it. I think it is because it is not very often that I strongly disagree with my husband. We are like minded in most things. However, recently the Holy Spirit has convicted me regarding two specific areas that I have not been in submission to my husband to. A friend reminded me of a story in Debbi Pearl's book Created To Be His Helpmeet. The wife new the husband was going the wrong direction and she gently had tried to tell him that she thought it was the wrong way but her husband felt sure that it was the right way. She then had to make a choice. To submit to his decision meant that she could go along with him for the ride and enjoy their time together, knowing he would eventually realize his mistake and get them where they were going. Her other option was to argue with him which would ruin their trip and cause tension in there relationship. Lord, help me to choose submission, to enjoy the ride and our relationship!

I am thankful: that Math U See has an on line chat feature. A very lovely woman helped my daughter through several complicated story problems that we just could not get figured out. Once they had finished the problems she took the extra time to encourage my daughter and to build her up.

From the kitchen: A beautiful friend brought a pumpkin mouse desert this evening. I am going to have to get this recipe from her. The crust was gingersnap and the mouse topping was a pumpkin whipped topping. It was wonderful. Another friend recently made pumpkin pancakes and thought they were delicious. I am going to have to plan for a pumpkin treat in next weeks menu!

I Am Wearing: A new denim skirt and a tan t shirt. I hit the jack pot at salvation army the other day. I love how God provides for my needs!

I Am Creating: My Christmas planner. Its not to early to start planning for those purchasing and looking for sales! Not to mention stocking the freezer with goodies for Christmas gift platters!

I Am Reading: I just started An Omnivores Dilemma by the same person who wrote In Defense of Food. This was his first book and it is considerably larger than the second. I have barely cracked the cover but am really looking forward to turning the pages!

I Am Praying: for our nation, the upcoming election, and the economy.

I Am Hearing: silence. Everyone is in bed either asleep or reading. I can actually hear myself think right now.

Around the House: My dear husband started putting up the privacy fence that we will need in the spring to install the pool. We surveyed the lay of the land and decided to move the raised beds closer together. We have a lot of wasted space that we are having to weed! By moving the beds closer together we will have more room with out taking away another section of yard. We are struggling to find an area in our yard that will work for expanding the garden. We have two very nice shade trees that make the side and back difficult which leaves the front yard.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: We are headed out to a grooming show Thursday and will be gone through the weekend. I am still trying to get the kids grading and papers caught up from the last two weeks. Maybe next week will be better!
